The Wedding!

Bonjour!
Awww what a lovely post today maybe?
Okay so here's me.

Not. Of course. ;p

Here it is.
On me; Black umbrella-cut abaya and matching shayla, Chanel-esqued clutch from ALDO.
*of course my hands are not black that were gloves i was wearing fyi ;p*

Close-up. Bambam ;p

Close-up; details on the dress!

Me with Yana. While waiting for our cabs.

So last week, 28th November 2012, I was invited to attend an Egyptian wedding. Well to conclude, it is, quite different from the usual Malay weddings I used to attend. Them Egyptians don't really eat during the wedding receptions. At most, they'll have confectioneries or halawiyat we call it here, and soft drinks.

These are some of the halawiyat here; Basbousa, Kunafa, Zalabyah, Balah El-Shaam, Sweet Gullash

You won't believe me but yes, all they do is just dancing, dancing, and dancing all night long. Ooohhh of course you can tell, me loving it so much yaww! And yes, I did dance the whole night that night and I had fun! Really! Please do invite me again some other times hewhewhew. Btw, here are some photos. But since I was dancing throughout the whole night, so there's not much photos that I was able to capture ;3

Me with Nuha (the girl in pink) and 2 other girls

I danced with Nuha that whole night. On the stage, yes. Haha. Btw can you guess how old is Nuha? Okay at first I thought she's like maybe 16 or 17 years old. But then she told us that she's 13! Okay that's quite a surprise already. Then, later that night, when her brother Mahmoud, who invited us in the first place, brought us for a very late dinner at CFC, firstly he said to me that Nuha like me very much. Well I think probably because I can converse in Arabic a bit so she felt comfortable to chat with me. Then when I asked him again, how old is she, he told us that she's 10 actually. We was like, what?! TEN years old and she's the same size as me already?! Whoaa. And our friend, Izzat, who's like having a crush on her, well she had a crush on Izzat too, and I was sort of being their translator that night. LOL Izzat and Nuha -.-' Btw Izzat please don't get dissappointed just because she's too young hahaha.

This is Izzat. Muka penat kot time ni dah midnight rasanya masing2 melangut je tunggu tremco.

Btw, here's throughout the wedding. Well not really. Before I went onstage to dance that is. ;p

Me with Keel.

Me With Sarah.

From Left ; Balqis, Sarah, Hanis, Keel, Shafinaz.

The performer. Cannot capture it nicely lah he was spinning too fast for too long and I only have my phone camera at that time so here's the best I could get.

Those were the bride and groom. The ones in the suit and the white dress.
*This lil boy; like a boss sitting front there on the stage -.-'

So that's all lah the pictures that I have. Because afterwards I was dancing hewhewhew. The wedding ended at about nearly 12am. So it's not easy to get a cab you know. What more 5 cabs. So in the end, Mahmoud kinda rented a tremco for us. *Tremco is a van, which is one of the main public transport used by civilians here, in Egypt, where you can fit it as many people as you like and the ride really feels like you're actually on one of the roller coasters in USS -.-* And so this was what happened.

You do the caption for me. More or less 24 of us in one tremco which usually fits for 10 to 12 people at one time. -.-'

Since there's no heavy meal at all throughout the night, I think Mahmoud really understand that we might be starving. So he treated us with CFC after the reception. Midnight that was. How nice of him!

Us! *famished*

Btw did I mention that it's winter here? And it's nearly 1am some more? Freezing. Eyebags. Worn-out. Starving. LututLonggarMenariBanyakSangat. *nuffsaid*

And so I think that's the end of that night. We had fun. Really. Well at least I did. Nice meeting you Mahmoud and not to forget Nuha, and of course the bride, Mahmoud's sister *whom I forgot the name. Asif giddan! T_T

Ehhhhh? The brat named Melati that is. Hahaha. I wore this to class last Monday. Because jubah, skinny jeans, and sneakers being worn together is cool liddat ;p

So till then, adios! :D

Fairydust

I know I know it's been too long already it's been like ages, right? Biggest apology. I promise I'll write down every details of what's been going on and such here. Little by little that is. ;3

So here we go. Here's what i wore to class today.

*P/S: Sorry for the not-so-high quality pictures i don't know why.

On me: grey Terranova batwing top (got this piece for just LE 9 instead of LE 139 original price! really really huge win! *they're having a promotion at that time so buy any 2 items and get the 3rd one for LE 9 only. I'm kinda a sale magnet, am i not? ;3); H&M skinny grey acid-washed jeans (got this for LE 50 instead of LE 199 original price! another big win! sale all the way! :D); purple multi-style cardigan from HoneyNara ; black ALDO Desadier-92 high-cut sneakers (got this for LE 180 instead of LE 439 original price. lol too much wins in today's outfit i guess. haha) ; reversible two-sided dustpink-grey shawl (bought at sikkah here in mansoura. it's heaven i'm telling you because there's just too much to choose from and with a really really good price! and this shawl is extra wide too. and i mean, really wide. so i love this piece! :D) ; grey hobo bag from Cotton-On (again, got it for MYR 19 instead of MYR 49. hehehee told ya i'm a promotion magnet. ;p)

So today, we were supposed to have a practical session in the lab at 10.30am-12.30pm. but we waited. and waited. and waited. and waited. oh it's 11.30am already and so suddenly the session was cancelled. and we have another lousy hour to wait until the next session, PBL session, which started at 12.30pm. So we were actually happy this morning. Not. -.-'

So can I just like pen-off first for now hikhiks because it's already 10.23pm and so I'm all sleepy. Promise I'll write again tomorrow. So till then, Bon Nuit! ;D

*P/S/S: It's WINTER yeayy! :D

Love, Hanis.

Colour Clashing #2. Code : Avatar {Water vs Fire}

Assalamualaikum lovelies!
Today's colour clashing experiment : Avatar, The combination of water element and the fire element.
Well, must say that I've come to fancy this colour recently. Terasa macam contrast yet outstanding. Oh, so much love!

I'm wearing: black tee, red skirt (UIA bazaar), turqoise multi-style cardigan (by Hanis Ismail *click to get yours!), red shawl (by Hanis Ismail), diamante black velvet boots (bought in Korea. *Wayy cheaper compared to the price of boots in Malaysia. Well, you should go. And drool. Am tempted to have all of them.), black jeans Prada tote (from Mama).

*Please ignore muka serabai itu. Oh, sangat worn-out.

Actually, this colour coding is inspired by this:

Maya karin; Eh magazine cover photo
Well, this dress is tangerine tapi I think red turns out to be as outstanding jugak kan.

Am thinking of making my baju raya in this colour code. What say you?
Till then, adios! ;)

DIY : Bib Necklaces

Assalamualaikum! Bonjour lovelies =)

Am designing few of these darlings. Awwhh, bib necklaces are simply irresistible! *Macam makanan eh "irresistible"? Pringles ke apa kan? hehe..

I'll spill some hints; a bit edgy, curvaceous here and there, and somehow can be chic as well.. 0oohh, can't wait for the end product, yeay!

Korang nak the step-by-step of this process? Kalau nak, lemme know kayh~ Sebab dia sangatlah simple mudah dan berkesan lahaii sambil tutup telinga pun boleh buat. eh? ;p

my... this is beyond innovative. am so gonna try this out. soon I tell you. awwhh.. lawanya semua! <3

*p/s : siapa kata duduk rumah tak boleh jadi belia produktif? Selamat Hari Belia. (choii!! patriotis tetibe? haha..)

No, I'm not a student of art and fashion design. I just design my own outfits. For fun.

My my.. tajuk tak boleh nak panjang lagi ke? haha.. But yes, a lot of my friends have been asking.. "Kenapa tak ambik fashion designing weyh? Kau macam terer je." Korang ni memang pun, time aku bercakap berhujah 120 km/h tanpa henti korang suruh aku jadi lawyer pulak (?) oh yesss... aku sebenarnya nak jadi permaisuri lah. *puii.. verangan~ haha.. hailaa.. multitasking sungguh ni. And no, I'm not a fashion student nor a law student. Imma doctor to be. *InsyaAllah, pray for me =). or should I take pharmacy instead? haila haila. stop it already. Promised myself that for the time being, as I've put my maximum effort, doa, and I'll let fate decide. =) *eh, kan lari topik dah?

Okay2. Let's get back on track. I simply love to design my own outfit. Kalau rajin, jahit sendiri. Kalau baju yang complicated semua tu, kalau terasa yakin boleh serta berkaliber, juga jahit sendiri. Tapi kalau kain mahal, hantar tailor sahaja. Sayang woh kalau amatur macam aku ni 'ter'rosakkan kain lawa2 mahal2 kan. But basically, yes, I do draw the designs and patterns by myself.

Le lady in the middle wearing the cardigan that I made in the most basic, simplest way.
*I was going out from UIA. Gila kalau nak pakai style pelik2 itu ini kan. Mau kena kejar dengan Pak Guard. See, Fadi pun pakai baju kurung. Sesungguhnya semua ini kerana kami keluar dari UIA. myehehehe..
Btw, I've discovered 4 to 6 different ways of styling this cardigan. (Yeay!) kalau nak get the ideas, don't hesitate to let me know. =) Kalau nak, nanti saya bagi tutorials ea?

*This is the best picture with quite a clear view of the cardigan that I can get. Will work on better snaps soon, yeah?

*And oh, I was about to include some of my sketches here but I've lost the soft copy. Mianata!

So, tonight, some friends of mine have been asking about all these stuff that I made. Generally, memanglah aku buat untuk diri sendiri je. But if there're requests, why not turn the hobby into profit kan? Kurang2 dapat lah jugak poket ni nak terasa berkepuk sedikit lalu dapatlah juga shopping dengan tenang dan senang hati cuti2 ini kan~ ihik.

Okay, so here, siapa2 nak request or ada enquiry tentang apa2 sahaja yang korang nampak aku pakai, you're most welcomed to do so. Feel free to ask yeah? I'll be honoured to fulfill your temptations. ^_^

*p/s: I really2 wish to go out with Fadi this Saturday. Pretty please let her say yes to come with me. Miss that girl like crazy already. ='(

Colour Clashing #1. Code : Capsicum

Assalamualaikum pretty ladies! (and gentlemen)

Since I'm in a quite long semester break with nothing to do but being online, go through the tons of novels that I bought, makeover itu dan ini, experimenting with fashion, designing new outfits (<3), hangouts here and there, so on and so forth, so here you go.

And since takde buat apa sgt, maka selalulah hangout here and there. and kalau rajin nak melawa2, insyaAllah I'll snap some pics and put it here. but don't put the expectations up too high! I'm not that much of a fashion expert aite? but I'll just share my fashion sense I guess, which is, somehow reflecting my mood pada masa kejadian. heheh..

Semalam chat dengan Fadi and she said that when she tried on her chilli red cardigan with her dark turqoise skirt, angah dia kata "Kenapa colour coding kau mcm autism sgt ni?" so, when I was about to go out, Fadi suggested that I wear my army green skirt with something red. As an experiment kot. huhu.. So, it turns out like this;

See? Fadi said it's nice! tak autism pun. haha.. *I wonder lahh mana Angah Fadi dpt idea nak cakap Fadi look 'autism'ed. hahaha..
*p/s: ignore my serabutness in this photo.

What I wore: chilli red t-shirt (Mama punya in her teenage years. Boy, isn't that long ago?) ; army green flare skirt (some bazaar in uia) ; white sleeveless cardigan (also belongs to Mama which she bought like 15 years ago?) ; cheetah printed peep toe pumps (crocs) ; cheetah printed satchel (bought in Korea) ; printed red-green scarf (from Amir) ; mixed bangles and pendants.

As you can see, I usually mix & match my outfits. Hey, nothing's more fun than that isn't it? And I usually curi my mama punya baju sebab boy, I tell you, she has like zillions of stuffs. And we share everything (yeay!) because we have nearly the same sizes for everything. And I can say that my mama is still stylish and young despite her age and her daughter who's already this besar gedabak. haha..

see? Told ya she's young. And more tak aci, she's pretty! *envy. haha..

Anyhow, I think the red goes well with green. And aku rasa colour coding aku tak lah ke laut mana pun. So, what say you? And I think Fadi still should try her red cardi with her turqoise skirt. pair it right and you go girl! ;)
