DIY : Red Velvet


taraaaaa!!

jadi tak? hahaha.. kantoi sangat google ni weyh..
okay, sebenarnya, ni lah hasil red velvet yang aku buat...


masih tak percaya? okay merajuk bye. *ptuii!
fine lah ni pun tipu jugak ;p
sebenarnya memang plan nak buat valentine's day red velvet macam ni.. bila slice ada heart shape kat tengah2.. tapi mama kata, leceh. jadi, insan malas ini buat yang biasa sahaja.. hehehhe..

okay, now back to our main point. awak2 nak resipi? senang sangat lahaii buat benda alah ni sebenarnya. nama je gah tapi mak limah umur 75 tahun pun reti buat kalau ikut resipi macam ni jah oii.. kata mak bedah kepada mak timah. okay done! merepek tak sudah kan hanis. ;p
so, here we go~

*amaran! entri ini panjang dan sedap.

CAKE

Ingredients

- 3 cups of self-raising flour
- 3 tbsp of cocoa powder
- 250g of unsalted butter
- 2 cups of Castor sugar
- 4 eggs (grade A)
- 1 cup of buttermilk (can be substituted with 1 cup of fresh milk added with 1 tbsp of lemon juice or vinegar)
- 4 tbsp of bright red food coloring
- 1 tbsp of baking soda
- 1 tbsp of vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar sebab tuu je yang ada kat dalam fridge. hehe)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp of salt



Methods

1) Preheat oven for 30 minutes to 170 °C.
2) Sieve flour, cocoa powder and salt together. Ensure these ingredients to mix well, and put aside.

3) In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together using medium speed until a light, fluffy, and whitish mixture is obtained.

4) Add in eggs (one by one) and mix thoroughly using low speed.

5) On the other hand, mix buttermilk and food coloring together, and put aside.

6) After the mixture of cream butter, sugar and eggs have been well mixed, add in 1/3 of the mixture of flour and cocoa powder. Continue mixing with low speed.
7) Next, add in 1/2 of the mixture of buttermilk and food coloring into the mixing bowl.
8) Repeat steps 6 & 7 in alternate. Mix well.
9) Throughout the process, scrape sides of bowl regularly.

10) Apart from that, stir baking soda with vinegar until it gets bubbly. *sorry lupa nak snap gambar!
11) Add the mixture of baking soda and vinegar into the mixing bowl. Fold into the batter using a spatula.
12) Batter done! Now, pour into prepared baking pan (baking pan has to be greased beforehand). In this case, since I made cupcakes, pour into cups lahh kan.

*p/s: jangan isi cup penuh2! nanti melimpah-ruah ke ladang gandum. isi dalam 1/2 je.

13) Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until cake tester inserted into center comes out clean.
14) Remove cake from oven and cool for 5-10 minutes before icing.


CREAM CHEESE FROSTING


Ingredients


- 120g of cream cheese (softened)
- 50g of unsalted butter
- 200g of icing sugar (sifted)
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of vanilla essence

Method


1) In a mixing bowl, cream butter and cream cheese until creamy and free of lumps.
2) Gradually add in icing sugar. Scrape sides regularly.
3) Add in salt and vanilla essence. Mix well. Frosting dah siap!

nak ambil cream cheese punya resepi je la..sbb suka adik beradik cheese yang sedap lagi menyelerakan...em..sedap2.. pasal tag tu nak join bole tak join pon tak pa.. pandai hanis buat kek..tak pernah lagi buat kek sepanjang hidup...heheh
